Welcome
Welcome to Together for the Common Good on Substack.
For more than twelve years we’ve recognised that the hyper liberal philosophy of the past few decades has failed, in both economic and social terms, and we’ve been calling for a new settlement based on the common good. As we face the emerging new era, this is more important than ever. The way ahead is fraught with risk, but we sense that God is at work, inviting each of us to play our part in spiritual and civic renewal.
Our approach is to help people read the signs of the times and discern their vocation for the common good in the places where they live and work. Inspired by Catholic Social Thought, and working across the churches, we resource Christian leaders through our public talks, bespoke sessions, stories, essays and newsletters, and we equip schools and young people through our Common Good Schools programme.
We also produce the Leaving Egypt podcast, where our founder director Jenny Sinclair, along with co-host Alan Roxburgh, meet with guests to read the signs of the times and explore what it means to be God’s people in this time of unravelling.
Over the coming weeks and months we will be developing this Substack further as and when our capacity allows.
Thank you for joining us. Together for the Common Good is a very small charity making a big impact thanks to the relationships we build. Our work has evolved organically and is Spirit-led. We engage across the Christian traditions through many partnerships and on very little money. The demand for this work is growing and we need your help.
Why should I subscribe?
